Below please find Lyman Jordan's updated endorsement of George Banker's work as the Operations Manager for the Army Ten Miler .

Details of the Recommendation: "I have worked side-by-side with George for many years as we supported many events, from small to huge. George has a keen sense of what constitutes a successful running event at any level. He is adroit in communicating this sense to race organizers in a way that enables them to effectively implement key success factors.

In my opinion, the U.S. Army Ten-Miler was a wonderful but highly flawed event before George assumed the position of operations manager. The difference in the quality of this important event since George assumed this role has been tremendous. His mark is everywhere, from the management of the course, the vendors, and most of all, his amazing feat of amicably integrating the historically at-odds originators of the race. George took on a task his predecessors found impossible and mastered the complex politics that historically limited the success of ATM. The result is that ATM has grown into the largest, most successful 10-mile race in the world.

All along the way, George has made friends with his ready smile and lighthearted attitude in the face of stressful situations. Underneath that readiness to laugh at adversity is a steel-clad insistence on "doing it right". George's mission for high quality is contagious to all who work with him, as readily evidenced by observing him in action. Everyone who works with George soon recognizes that George truly "gets it" about every aspect of conducting a world-class event. If they are fortunate enough to work with George, they soon "get it" too.

ATM is without any doubt one of the world's top running events. It owes its success to many dedicated individuals, but none more than George."
